Permissions for individual blocks

Any plans on this? Not just for whole page, but individual components.

No comments :frowning: ? Did I wrote something really stupid?

Hi trsh, can you elaborate on what you’re looking for here? Are you talking about being able to pick the people who can edit a specific portion of the homepage?

Currently Apostrophe’s unit of editable content is the doc (such as an entire page). However think about using apostrophe-pieces-widgets to pull in content that can only be managed by the people who have the permission required to edit that type of piece via the admin bar.

An even simpler option is sometimes to use an area that is part of the data.global doc, which only admins can edit.

Well. Just imagine a Single page with a carousel, some banners and and footer. Editor A (or user in group X) should be able only edit carousel, editor B the banners, and to change the footer user must be an admin… So your recommendations are still valid?

And sadly I’n not so advanced in apostrophecms, to pick up your tips and start implementing. Some example project on Git would be highly appreciated.
