Error while creating a forum account

While trying to create an apostrophe forums account using github I kept getting the below error:

So I tried using my email ID to register myself to the form, but when I clicked on the activation button after following the activation link I faced the very same error.

Even after getting the error I tried logging in and I was able to login despite the error.

I can confirm that there seems to be a problem with the github option. The other option works.
